Committee Chairs

ACTIVITIES/OPEN GYM

Students have access to both gyms and the cafeteria. The gyms are set up for activities such as ping-pong, basketball, and volleyball. The cafeteria offers after school snacks, raffle prizes, and bingo.
Sixth grade has three Friday after school dates; seventh grade has two Friday after school dates; and, eighth grade has one Friday after school date.

Committee plans the activities, food, raffle prizes, and schedules volunteers.

BREAKFAST TREATS

Treats for students at special times during the year. This committee purchases and distributes the snacks.

CULTURAL ARTS

Plans assemblies and programs for the students, which complement the school curriculum. Two of the programs from 2005-06 were a Civil War re-enactment for the eighth graders and sixth and seventh grade science classes were taught within a huge earth dome.

 DYNAMITE NIGHT

An annual autumn event, new this year, two parties -- one for the sixth graders and the other for the seventh and eighth graders. It is an evening of games, prizes, music & dancing with a DJ, raffle prizes and pizza. The committee plans the party, hires vendors (DJ and carnival game service), purchases food items, and schedules volunteers.

ENVIRONMENT

Encourages student participation in the reducing of waste, recycling, and reusing goods. Sponsors special events related to environment.

GRADUATION ACTIVITIES

Events for the eighth graders, such as Friday night theme dance, picnic, and breakfast for eighth graders and parents. The committee plans the events, purchases necessary items, and schedules volunteers.

HALLOWEEN PARTY

Patti Philippe

An event, with two parties - one for the sixth graders and the other for the seventh and eighth graders. Committee plans the party, decorates the gym, purchases food items, and schedules volunteers.

HELPING HANDS

A network to hlep families facing hardships.

HOSPITALITY

A program that stresses the importance of character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER

Coordinates volunteer staff to staff the LRC.

MARKET DAY

Organizes monthly sales of Market Day food products.

MEMBERSHIP

Promotes and coordinates PTA membership drive.

NEWSLETTER

Denise Kurinec

Compiles all of the PTA information to be sent with the school newsletter.

PARENT ACTIVITIES

Kathy Fox  
Plans activities for parents only during the school year - such as a speaker or coordinating an outing such as bunco or bowling.

PROSPECT HIGH SCHOOL TPC LIAISON

Provides a monthly report at the Lincoln PTA meetings on activities of interest at Prospect High School.

PUBLICITY

Documents events throughout the school year.

SCHOOL DIRECTORY

Assembles and distributes the school directory to all Lincoln families.

STAFF APPRECIATION

Plans activities to recognize Lincoln's staff, such as providing mealsduring conferences. Committee decides on events and coordinates activities.
